WHAT’S NEW AT WHITTIER?

CONGRATULATIONS, WHITTIER 3rd GRADERS!

Whittier’s 3rd grade students tested 78% proficient on the Reading TCAP (formerly known as CSAP) test!  This means they ranked #16 out of the 98 3rd grades in DPS.  And, Whittier had the
highest jump in all of DPS for scores from last year to this year – jumping 33 percentage points.

We are so proud of our hard-working 3rd grade readers!  Way to go!

 

WALK FOR WHITTIER!

The Whittier PTA presents a Whittier Family Event entitled Walk for Whittier on Friday, May 18th from 5:00-7:30 pm with a community walk from 5:00-5:30 pm with a celebration to follow from 5:30-7:30 pm. Whittier K-8 is located at 25th & Downing.

 

WHITTIER ROCK THOUGHTS

The Social Justice Project has officially launched.  This project is a wonderful collaboration between students and teachers at Whittier ece-8 in Denver, Colorado, the RedLine Art Laboratory, and Rock Thoughts. The rocks will be on display at RedLine starting on  May 12th.  If you are in the neighborhood, we encourage you to stop by and show your support. You can also view the rocks on Facebook.
