2013 WALK FOR WHITTIER & FAMILY FUN NIGHT!
It’s time to get your walking shoes out as we Walk for Whittier once again! This year’s Walk and Family Fun Night will take place on Friday, May 24th, 5:00-7:30 pm. The proceeds will support the school’s music program along with providing additional enrichment for the students. Please visit the Walk for Whittier page for additional information.
WHITTIER IS ON A ROLL!
Whittier 3rd graders rock! Whittier’s students far exceeded the district average of 61% by testing 76% proficient in reading. This is a testament to the hard work of Whittier students and staff.
This year, Whittier also maintained its rating as a Green/Meets Expectation school – even moving up the ranks from 51% to 55%.
At the middle school level, out of the 500 middle schools in the State of Colorado, Whittier ranked #41 for academic growth in math, #31 for growth in reading and…#1 for growth in writing. The middle school also was ranked 6th among all 55 DPS middle schools for overall academic growth in the DPS School Performance Framework. Way to go, Whittier students!
