WHAT’S UP AT WHITTIER?
FOR PROSPECTIVE WHITTIER FAMILIES
For families wishing to enroll at Whittier, the school office is now closed for the summer. The school office will reopen toward the beginning of August. You can call the school at 720-424-3040 to see if the office is open.
If you are interested in learning more about Whittier through taking a personal tour, please contact Karen at 303-986-5929 or email@example.com. Tours are set up at your convenience.
Good news! Due to the increased demand for seats at Whittier, the school will open an additional 2nd grade class next year. So, Whittier will have two Kindergartens, two 1st grades, two 2nd grades with the 3rd-8th grades remaining at one class per grade level for next year.
WALK FOR WHITTIER – A HUGE SUCCESS!
Even though the threats of thunderstorms pulled us inside, the 5th annual Walk for Whittier & Family Fun Night was a blast! Hundreds of Whittier families and community members filled the place and with the amazing bookends of the Montbello Drumline launching our Walk and Streetside Dance closing out our carnival, the atmosphere was electric!
Our goal was to raise $11,000…and we raised $13,000. We are so thrilled to know that Whittier will have music again next year and that our students will have durable homework folders & some classroom supplies.

WAY TO GO, WHITTIER 3rd GRADERS!
Maintaining a continued streak of high scores, Whittier’s 3rd graders tested 67% Proficient, the highest scores among the Title 1 schools in our Near Northeast community. What is especially exciting is that 0% of Whittier’s 3rd graders tested Unsatisfactory – a feat accomplished by only four other DPS schools: Polaris, Cory, Odyssey & Steck. We are so proud of you, Whittier 3rd graders!
